Milwaukee County Office Assistant

The Office Assistant fulfills a multi-faceted role within our Administrative Assistant team, participating in a range of duties. This role will require a detail-oriented and organized individual with a passion for helping the office run efficiently. Duties can include being seated as a front desk receptionist to aid clients checking into the office for appointments, answering and directing calls, scheduling assessment appointments, assist with court reminder phone calls- including helping clients problem-solve barriers in reporting to court; supporting case management staff with electronic filing (E-filing), become well-versed in the programs and services offered by JusticePoint, and assist with other clerical duties as needed. Individuals served by the agency often experience mental health and/or substance abuse disorders and this position requires an individual who is empathetic, compassionate, and composed.

 

The Office Assistant will primarily assist in the receptionist role by greeting and directing individuals and guests when they arrive to the office; they will also assist with the Court Reminders program, assist with other clerical and filing duties; and provide administrative support to case managers.

 

 

 

Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to communicate professionally & accurately, both orally and written
  • Organized, attentive to detail, ability to multi-task, work independently
  • Ability to maintain a professional, respectful demeanor with clients, guests, and colleagues
  • Fluency in Spanish, spoken and written, preferredbut not required
  • Prior clerical or reception experience preferred

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required; related associate degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile with insurance
  • Pass a pre-employment background check
